Matters of taste

In Chemnitz, the exhibition at the Rhineland Industrial Museum wasn't rehashed, but rather regionally adapted and re-presented. The accompanying book is also dedicated not only to the table setting during the "economic miracle," but also to the imaginative menus of the scarcity economy and everyday life in the GDR. Table manners, gender relations, ideals of beauty and images of humanity, supermarkets and department stores, advertising, and the globalization of the food industry are the topics of the accompanying volume.
