The Poetry of the Functional has been both the title and guiding principle of the International Marianne Brandt Competition since 2001, which is organized every three years for young artists at home and abroad. The competition focuses on Marianne Brandt’s main fields of work: product design and photography, along with a special category that changes regularly.
In 2016, the special category focused on experimental setups/experiments. The emphasis was on methods and concepts for the experimental, often unconventional exploration and testing of materials for and within design processes.
