preserve – experience – remember
The exhibition accompanied the publication of the same name by the author Bernd Sikora, published by the Werkbund Sachsen.
It focused primarily on buildings worth preserving, which are currently vacant and threatened by decay, and on the measures needed for their conservation.
The selected examples of repurposed and exemplary restored industrial monuments served as a guide and set standards. Lost industrial monuments were also highlighted to raise awareness of the cultural potential that can be lost if preservation measures come too late or if the monuments have to make way for new construction.
