Hydrogen Grand Prix

Germany Final 2026

The H2 Grand Prix Germany 2026 returns to the Industriemuseum Chemnitz — continuing a partnership that began in 2024 with the aim of encouraging and supporting young talent from Chemnitz and across Germany.

This year, the H2GP brings together pupils and university students competing in a range of categories. From children aged 10 and above in the Sprint category — where participants explore sustainable mobility and hydrogen technology using 1:20 scale model cars powered entirely by hydrogen — to university teams developing sophisticated 1:10 fuel cell vehicles that reflect real engineering challenges in contemporary mobility.

All teams will come together for a four-hour endurance race. Victory will go to those who demonstrate the highest levels of energy efficiency and the most innovative technical solutions. The winning teams will then represent Germany at the World Finals, where more than 60 teams from around the globe present their projects in the fields of technology, education and sustainable development.

Presented by Fachkräfteallianz Sachsen, Referenzfabrik.H2, BMW Plant Leipzig and Industriemuseum Chemnitz.
