Metamorphosis of Workwear

The blue overall is a versatile garment; it can be practical workwear or an extraordinary designer piece. In *Metamorphosis of Workwear*, it becomes an artistic projection surface for industrial culture.

Eighteen designers from six European cities engage with the industrial past, present, and future of Chemnitz, Gabrovo, Łódź, Manchester, Mulhouse, and Tampere. Together with the artistic director Wiete Sommer, the artists translate this information into the visual design of the garment.

On January 31, visitors can watch the three Chemnitz-based artists at work and are invited to discuss workwear and working life, past and present. These conversations will be incorporated into the exhibition.
