Tracing the Path of Transformation

Together with the tour guide Ramona Wagner, we set out on a journey through the industrial heritage and transformation of Chemnitz by (our own) bicycle. We start at the Industrial Museum, which itself is a successful example of transformation: production took place here from the 19th century onward, and demolition was narrowly avoided in 1990. Today, visitors can experience around 220 years of Saxon industrial history in the former foundry hall. Other stops on the cycling tour include, for example, the Hartmann Factory, the Janssen Factory, the Haase Dye Works, and the Actien Spinning Mill.
