Comfortably Seated?
A Discussion on Reissued Seating Furniture Classics in Saxony
Panel Discussion
Discover the Fascinating World of Forgotten Design Classics!
Our panel discussion focuses on iconic seating furniture such as the DDR kitchen chair EW 1192, the popular East and West Z-Chair, and the Rowac stool from Chemnitz. Our panelists are convinced: these classics are far from old-fashioned or dusty. The Z-Chair and the Rowac stool are once again being produced in Saxony today. Schneeberg’s Professor of Wood Design, Jacob Strobel, has developed a redesign prototype of the DDR kitchen chair EW 1192, with the goal of seeing it return as a series-produced product MADE IN SAXONY.
Dive into the history, the design, and the future of these timeless pieces of furniture, and hear directly from the creators what makes them so special!
