Christmas Jazz Songs as well as Works by George Gershwin, Nikolai Kapustin, Dmitri Shostakovich and Pyotr Tchaikovsky

In this concert of the Klasse Klassik! series, Frank Dupree and his jazz trio, together with saxophonist Libor Šíma and the chamber orchestra of the Robert Schumann Philharmonic, swing into the Christmas season at the Chemnitz Museum of Industry. The exceptional artist Dupree has already captivated audiences in Chemnitz multiple times with his brilliant playing and programs where jazz and classical music form a wonderful symbiosis. This time, the program includes various Christmas jazz songs as well as compositions and arrangements for jazz ensemble and chamber orchestra, such as George Gershwin’s famous Rhapsody in Blue, Dmitri Shostakovich’s captivating Jazz Suite No. 1, Nikolai Kapustin’s brilliant Concerto-Rhapsody Op. 25, and Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker Suite.
